Sheri Wyatt is a Partner in PwC’s Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) practice and also serves as the Diversity Leader for PwC’s Trust Solutions segment. She has over 20 years of experience advising companies in the adoption of new accounting and financial reporting standards, from assessing current state through operationalizing the new standards and policies. Sheri advises global clients on their ESG strategies, including how to navigate their reporting journey, with a specific focus on evolving and leading ESG frameworks. She has worked with large, multinational clients with developing and executing on their reporting strategy in response to regulators, investors and internal stakeholders. In her role as the Trust Solutions Diversity Leader, Sheri is responsible for executing PwC’s diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy within an Assurance practice of over 20,000 partners and staff, working closely with PwC’s Chief Purpose and Inclusion Officer on continuously improving PwC’s D&I strategy. By leading a data-driven D&I strategy embedded across the entire talent life cycle — from recruiting, onboarding and mid-level management progression to succession planning for partners — she focuses on developing and executing strategic interventions that supports and provides access to customized experiences for our people at key moments in their career. Sheri also serves on PwC’s Diversity and Inclusion Partner Council that reports directly to our Senior Partner. She brings these insights to her clients who are embarking on their D&I strategy and reporting journey. Sheri was previously a Deals partner specializing in providing accounting advisory services to clients to help them understand the accounting and financial reporting consequences of complex and sophisticated financial structures employed in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financing transactions. She led the development of the Firm’s go-to-market strategy and execution toolkit for how PwC helps clients implement the new lease accounting standard driving significant revenue for the Firm. Sheri was a Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) from July 2006 to August 2008.

ESG, DEI and the Family Business Speaker

Discussion and Interactive Working Session 

What are ESG and DEI, and why do they matter to family-owned businesses?  This session will explore the ABCs of ESG (environmental, social and governance issues) and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and how these principles can address a family business’ values and social purpose, and address the concerns of the NextGen, customers and other stakeholders.

After the discussion, participants will have the opportunity to work on an ESG exercise to identify ways in which their businesses can enhance and promote what they’re already doing, and what they plan to do in the future.
